Issue #001 -- Everything On The Internet is Fre.e... So What? July 18, 2006 |
| Hi I recently conducted a survey, a recurring theme was, "Why should I pay for a subscription newsletter, when everything on the net is free?" I suppose that is a valid response. After the intensive labor I put into the last newsletter, there are no plans to produce another newsletter, paid or free. HOWEVER, it must be noted that, in my own obsessive-compulsive quest for the truth about what works in business, I had to sort through mountains of "glass" to find "diamonds" of truth about what really works. Let's face it: there is a lot of erroneous, misleading, and garbage information on the net, in the bookstores, on television, etc. on what is the "truth" about what works. And, even though the "diamonds" of truth are available for everyone, you must sort through tonnage of "glass", or even manure to get to the truth. For every 1000 books on sales, marketing, and publicity, 998 of the authors can't even sell their own books! There is always a cost, sometimes it's money, sometimes it's time. Personally, I believe time is more valuable than money. You can always get more money. Sometimes, it's worth it to pay a professional for information, expertise, or services, in order to save hours, weeks, months, years, or even decades of time. Are you with me on this?
